WATER PROJECT
From May 1st – May 31st this year my Church, St Matthew with St Oswald’s in Rugby are supporting Christian Aid’s water project to build earth dams for communities in Kenya, whose water supply has become erratic due to climate change. Your gift could make someone like Rose’s life much better; enabling an earth dam to be built in her community.
Rose spends 6 hours journeying on foot each day to collect water.
I celebrated my 70th Birthday on the 16th May and I have set myself the challenge of running 70K in seven days at the end of May and seeking sponsorship. I am running so that people like Rose do not have to walk such long distances every day simply to get water.
⦁ £10 could buy a pair of taps at a water point which will be installed at an earth dam.
⦁ £42 could buy 350kg of cement, which is needed to build an earth dam.
⦁ £545 could pay for a skilled labourer to work on the construction of an earth or sand dam.
